EasyJet has announced new flights taking off from Liverpool and Edinburgh to City of Derry Aiport from November.
Both routes will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays throughout the year – making them ideal for business travel and weekend breaks.
Buncrana Councillor Jack Murray says the expansion is good news for Donegal.
“This is fantastic news for those of us in Inishowen as Derry airport is a vital transport hub – with almost half of its passengers being from Donegal,” Cllr Murray said.
“I hope this can also help attract more tourists into the Northwest and improve our accessibility (in the ongoing absence of rail and a motorway connection to Dublin).”
