Five Donegal sports clubs are set to benefit from funding for the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging points on their grounds.
This initiative is part of a wider €100 million national investment in EV infrastructure, which positions clubs to play a key role in expanding access to EV charging while supporting environmental and sustainability goals.
Over 220 sports clubs across Ireland are eligible for funding under the €15 million Shared Island Sports Club EV Charging Scheme.
The five successful Donegal clubs are:
- Portsalon Golf Club
- Curragh Athletic, Killygordon
- Dunfanaghy Golf Club
- Letterkenny Golf Club
- CLG Ard a’ Ratha, Ardara
John McNulty, Fine Gael candidate for Donegal, said: “This funding is a great boost for EV infrastructure at our local sports facilities. It will cover the cost of installing EV charge points, benefiting both club members and visitors while promoting sustainability.”
He added “Congratulations to these clubs on their successful applications. This funding is a great development for our local communities, enhancing current facilities while helping create a more sustainable future,” concluded McNulty.
