Wicklow 0-13 v 2-23 Donegal
It was a strong start to the League season for Donegal’s hurlers this afternoon.
Despite the long trip down the road for a 12:30 throw-in in Wicklow, Donegal were well up for the challenge in this Division 2B clash.
Donegal were quick out of the gates building a 0-08 to 0-02 lead, before a sensational strike from a free saw Luke White’s effort from the 65 meter line make its way into the Wicklow goal to make the score 1-08 to 0-02.
A red card for Wicklow’s Michael Og O’Neill shortly after Donegal’s first goal meant the result was never in doubt, with Luke White also scoring his second goal of the game from a penalty late on to seal the result for Donegal, 2-23 to 0-13.
Donegal’s hurlers will now take on North West rivals Derry next week in Letterkenny.
