Last weekend all roads led to Abbotstown in Dublin where the All Ireland Senior Indoor Track and Field Championships took place.
These championships are the pinnacle national indoor event for most seniors and the club was represented by Leah McGarvey and Fodhla Nic Phaidin who both took part in the Long Jump. Both ladies are getting back into competitive action and came away happy with their results following on from the Varsities the previous weekend. Well done to you both, role models for our juvenile athletes.
At the Senior Ulster Cross Country Championships in Inishowen, Selina O Donnell went to the line a large field of 100 athletes finishing middle of the pack in 42nd place and was well happy with that run.
All focus for juveniles is now centered towards the Ulster Indoor Championships which will take place the weekend of March 2nd and 3rd at Abbotstown in Dublin.
Just a reminder for those of you who have not re-registered this year or have never been a member. Your registration covers your insurance racing and official training nights.
We have club members training at 8:15p.m in Dungloe on a Monday and Wednesday and also in Gweedore on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30pm. Even if you don’t race too often, registering at least gives peace of mind when training with these groups. Any questions at all don’t be afraid to reach out to club registrar Lorraine Doherty or any committee member.
