Adrian Mc Myler, a 24-year-old independent candidate, is bringing a fresh perspective and a strong sense of community to the forefront of the local elections in the Buncrana electoral area this June.
Born and raised in the heart of Donegal, Adrian comes from a well-known family deeply rooted in the fabric of the community.
His father, Pat Mc Myler, a former town councillor, instilled in him a passion for public service from an early age, while his mother, Sandra, nurtured his sense of empathy, compassion, and business savvy characteristics through her work in holiday rentals abroad.
Growing up in a supportive and welcoming environment, Adrian found solace and strength in the tight-knit community of Inishowen, especially as a gay individual in rural Ireland. His pride in Buncrana and Inishowen is palpable, and he is committed to ensuring that the region remains a place where everyone feels accepted and valued.
Adrian’s journey of service began at a young age, volunteering and advocating for others. At just 16 years old, he founded a local sick children’s charity, a testament to his compassion and drive to make a difference in the lives of those around him. Since then, he has continued to be a vocal advocate for mental health awareness and has fundraised tirelessly for various local causes whilst being involved in the heart of countless initiatives, events, and charities.
Having experienced emigration firsthand, Adrian understands the challenges facing young people in Inishowen. While abroad in Australia, he played a pivotal role in promoting Buncrana and Inishowen at Sydney’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival. However, his heart remained in Donegal, fueling his desire to return home and contribute to building a brighter future for the community he served.
Now, as an independent candidate for the Donegal County Council election, Adrian is focused on addressing critical issues facing Buncrana and its residents. He is passionate about representing the people affected by Mica to ensure their justification in obtaining 100% redress, revitalization of the Buncrana Leisure Centre, economic and tourism development, and housing access, recognizing the need for wider increased local resources and support for the community. Adrian is committed to fostering growth, enhancing quality of life, and empowering individuals within the region.
Above all, Adrian values the input and support of his fellow community members. He understands the importance of every vote and encourages constituents to place him as their No.1 choice in the upcoming election. With his dedication, energy, and vision for a better Buncrana, Adrian Mc Myler is poised to be a dynamic voice for change in local government. An independent, transparent, and integral man of the people. The Local Man.
As the election approaches, Adrian invites residents to join him in shaping the future of Buncrana and Inishowen. Together, they can build a stronger, more vibrant community that reflects the values of inclusivity, compassion, and progress.
